Privacy Policy
This policy explains what information Blue Wizard Tech, LLC (“Blue Wizard Tech”, “we”, “us”), a consulting business based in Austin, Texas, collects and what we do with it. It covers two things:
- our website, bluewizardtech.com; and
- Pallando Expenses, a private internal tool we use to prepare our own expense reports.
The short version
- The website collects what you type into the contact form, plus basic technical and analytics data.
- Pallando Expenses is used only by Pat O’Connell, on Pat’s own Google account. It does not access anyone else’s account.
- We do not sell personal information, and we do not use Google user data for advertising or to train AI models.
1. The website (bluewizardtech.com)
The contact form
When you send a message through the contact form, we collect:
- Your name and email address (required).
- Your company, the type of work, and your message (optional; only what you choose to enter).
Along with your message, we automatically record:
- how long the form was open before you sent it, which helps us filter out automated spam;
- a one-way, keyed hash of your IP address (not the address itself), which we use to limit how many messages can be sent from one source each day;
- your browser’s user-agent string (browser and operating system) and the address of the page you sent the form from;
-
how you found the site: the website that referred you, any campaign
tags on the link you followed (such as
utm_source), and the page you first landed on. Your browser holds this in session storage, which is cleared when you close the tab. It reaches us only if you send the form.
We use this information to read and reply to your inquiry and to keep a record of our business correspondence. Your message is emailed to us through Resend, an email delivery service, and arrives in our Google Workspace mailbox. It may also be stored in a Google Cloud Firestore database so that it is not lost if email delivery fails. If both email delivery and storage fail, the contents of your message are written to our server logs so that we can still respond.
Analytics
We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how the site is used. It records page views, which sections of the page you view and for how long, how far you scroll, and clicks on contact links, buttons, and project links. When the contact form is submitted, it records whether the submission succeeded or failed, but never what you typed.
Google Analytics uses cookies and collects information about your device, browser, and approximate location. Google processes this data under its own privacy policy. To opt out, block cookies in your browser or install the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
Hosting and server logs
The site runs on Google Cloud. Like most web hosts, Google Cloud keeps standard request logs, including your IP address, browser user-agent, the page requested, and the time. We use these logs only to operate and secure the site.
Cookies
We do not set any cookies of our own. The only cookies on this site are those set by Google Analytics, described above.
2. Pallando Expenses
Pallando Expenses is a private, internal tool that Blue Wizard Tech uses to prepare its own expense reports. It is not offered to the public. Its only user is Pat O’Connell, signed in with Pat’s own Google account. It never accesses any other person’s Google account.
What Google data it accesses, and why
- Gmail (read-only). It searches and reads messages in Pat’s own mailbox to find expense receipts. It cannot send, delete, or change any email.
- Google Drive and Google Sheets (read and write). It reads and writes files in Pat’s own Drive and spreadsheets to save receipts and build expense reports.
The data is used only to find receipts and produce expense reports for Blue Wizard Tech.
Where it is stored
Data handled by Pallando Expenses stays in Pat’s own Google account and on Pat’s own computer. It is not copied to Blue Wizard Tech servers or to any other service.
Sharing and use
Data obtained through Google APIs is not sold, is not shared with third parties, is not used for advertising, and is not used to develop, improve, or train artificial intelligence or machine learning models. No one other than Pat O’Connell reads it.
Pallando Expenses’ use and transfer of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Revoking access
Access granted to Pallando Expenses can be removed at any time from the Google Account permissions page.
3. Who we share information with
We do not sell or rent personal information. We share it only with the service providers that run the website, and only as needed for them to do so:
- Google: hosting (Cloud Run), database storage (Firestore), analytics (Google Analytics), and email (Google Workspace).
- Resend: delivery of contact-form messages to our inbox.
We may also disclose information when the law requires us to.
4. How long we keep it
We keep contact-form messages for as long as they are useful for our correspondence and business records. You can ask us to delete yours at any time. Google Analytics data is kept for the retention period set in our Google Analytics account, after which Google deletes it.
5. Your choices
You can ask us what information we hold about you, or ask us to correct or delete it, by emailing pat@bluewizardtech.com. We will respond within 30 days.
6. Security
The site is served only over HTTPS, and access to stored messages is limited to Blue Wizard Tech. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect what we hold.
7. Children
This site is intended for businesses and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect their information.
8. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will post the new version here and update the effective date at the top.
